Balancing Your Child's Energy - Heather Jean
In this day and age of high stimulus, processed foods and busy lifestyles trying to keep a balanced can be difficult. Diet, exercise, relaxation and positive reinforcement are a must.
Here are some tips to introduce to your everyday lives to help keep a balance...
- Choose foods with no additives, preservatives and colourings to avoid energy ups and downs.
- Make sure children are getting enough exercise every day. Yoga for children is an excellent activity to balance their bodies and can be done inside during the colder months.
- Starting each day with 3 deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth expanding the whole torso area. Repeat during the day when feeling stressed or frustrated.
- Have quiet time at home where everyone in the family has at least 30 mins either lying down, reading a book or laying in the garden, with no TV, computer or music - just silence.
